Bundaberg Region Ltd

Bundaberg Region Limited was formed in 1971 and continues as a non-profit organisation delivering value back to our communities. The company's service delivery and tourism operational strategies have been fine tuned since that time to make the organisation primarily responsible for marketing and positive promotion of the entire Bundaberg region to target and key markets. A name change from the "Bundaberg District Tourism & Development Board" to "Bundaberg Region Limited" occurred in September 2002.

Bundaberg Region Limited operate subsidiaries including "Bundaberg Region Tourism", "Bundaberg Region Enterprise" and "Bundaberg Region Visitor Information", as well as an events marketing and promotion service, an online tourism & regional promotion project and a facilitation service for economic and industry development.

Bundaberg Region Limited is one of fourteen (14) Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) in Queensland. The RTO network is recognised by the Queensland Government through our state partner Tourism Queensland (TQ).

Primary function of the RTO

The primary function of an RTO is to attract visitors and tourists to the destination (in our case, the Bundaberg, Coral Coast & Country Region). Importantly, the greatest majority of Bundaberg Region Limited's activities in fulfilling this role, including target market advertising and tourism promotion, trade and conference exhibitions and consumer shows, and exceeding our partners' expectations occur outside the Bundaberg region.

Other Functions of the RTO

We undertake the following activities on behalf of our stakeholders: - Leisure Marketing, promotion, trade education, advertising and publicity.
- Meeting, Events & Convention Marketing, destination profile marketing, promotion, value-adding activities.
- Tourism Industry Representation and market development, facilitation of research analysis, assessment of target markets
- Brand Development and promotion, management and promotion of our region's destination branding.
- Information Services and retailing, operation of the Bundaberg Regional Visitor Information Centre, Bundaberg Booking Centre and Regional Tourism.
- Call Centre functions.
- Regional Development.

Bundaberg Region Limited's work also encompasses representation as one of the region's leading facilitator of economic and industry development. Our role in this function is achieved through the establishment of business clusters and the facilitation of small business mentoring services and participation in various economic and industry advisory and planning forums. This includes representation of our hinterland (country) districts on infrastructure, community and new industry issues.
